What To Expect

Laser therapy is a non-invasive technique to help reduce pain and inflammation. Laser therapy can be safely used as an adjunct or replacement for pharmaceutical drugs. This pain relief treatment is FDA cleared and enables patients to have an alternative to drugs and surgery.

Laser therapy treatments last between 5 and 10 minutes depending on the condition being treated. Laser therapy treatments must be administered directly to skin, as laser light cannot penetrate through layers of clothing. You will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered. Laser therapy allows your body to utilize its own healing powers by inducing a series of healing responses in your body. During treatment you will feel a soothing warmth that identifies the beginning of an 18-24 hour process of modulated cellular activity leading to decreased pain and inflammation. Once this begins, your body can begin to heal the way it is suppose to.

Depending on the condition being treated your therapy may be administer through either a contact or non-contact hand piece. The contact hand piece is designed to allow the practitioner to physically manipulate the tissue while administering the treatment, resulting in a laser-massage treatment. This allows for light to penetrate deeper into tissues than the non-contact hand piece due to it?s ability to displace tissue through a laser-massage technique.

Patients generally see results after 3 to 5 treatments but with chronic conditions, it will take a longer treatment span to enable or break the neurological cycle that inhibits a pain free state of health and well being. Lite Cure Medical lasers work by flooding the tissue with photons, which energizes cells resulting in increased circulation to the injured or chronic pain area and ultimately create pain reduction. Over time, when consistently used properly, you will see the long lasting effects that it may attract.

Your doctor will develop a treatment plan that is optimal for your condition. Depending on what you may have or be experiencing for pain, your Doctor will know what treatment is best suited for your needs and how many treatment it may take for you to experience the benefits so many across the country are feeling. Treatment ranges from 5 treatments up to 30. We have not had anyone go over 30 sessions.

No negative side effects have been reported during therapy with standard laser light therapy and particularly with the LiteCure Medical Lasers that are utilized in this office. It is standard policy with Spine and Joint Institute to make sure all our Physicians and Technicians are Board Certified and properly trained with each and every device used in our clinic. The Medical Laser Light Therapy or MLLT is no different and we have been trained and certified to perform the operating functions for this device and all others.

Treatment Duration

Treatments can vary in length from seconds to minutes, depending on the condition. Research studies show there may be a dose-dependent response. Therefore, it may be more effective to treat at lower doses for multiple sessions than to treat a single time with a high dose therefore be patient with your care and allow your body to properly heal itself with the help of our Medical Lasers.
